Summary

The Tailor provides high-quality fitting and alteration services to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This role measures and fits customers, performs sewing alterations, and ensures timely completion of alteration requests while maintaining Nordstrom service standards. The Tailor collaborates with the store team and uses store technology to manage customer alteration needs.

Responsibilities

• Measure customers for size and fit garments, marking areas requiring alterations
• Perform and complete customer fittings and sewing alterations according to guidelines
• Meet department and individual productivity goals and follow proper processes
• Utilize store technology to manage and organize alteration requests
• Collaborate with the Alterations and Store Team to deliver customer expectations
• Educate customers and employees on fit, style, construction, and trends

Requirements

• Previous fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience; preferred minimum of 2 years
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing, pressing machinery, and standard alterations equipment
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule based on business needs
