Job Description

Summary

The Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis at Holt Renfrew offers a unique opportunity to partner with key stakeholders across the organization, specializing in Corporate SG&A. Reporting to the Director, FP&A, this role involves handling day-to-day financial activities related to multi-year budget planning, ongoing forecasting/results analysis, and ad-hoc projects. The role also supports the strategic and financial evaluation of Holt Renfrew’s capital investments.

Responsibilities
  • Review and monitor periodic cost centre results against budget/forecast, analyze variances, and provide insights.
  • Prepare and own operating expense annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis for potential business opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop strong partnerships with senior leaders and become a trusted thought leader.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to facilitate effective problem solving and financial decision making.
  • Assist in the financial and strategic evaluation of proposed capital expenditures.
  • Assist in month/year-end FP&A activities and ensure timely close of financial records.
  • Develop and improve processes and models to support management reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience within financial planning and analysis.
  • CPA designation (or working towards it) is preferred.
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to drive useful business insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills; exposure to SAP, IBM Cognos, and Microstrategy is ideal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced changing work environment.
  • Proactive with the ability to manage various priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong degree of ownership and accountability with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
