Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, maintaining safety, and supporting emergency response efforts. This role partners with store leadership and external agencies to reduce shrinkage and ensure secure store operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft incidents while adhering to policy and procedures.
- Monitor surveillance and video systems to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigators.
- Leverage RFID and reporting tools to analyze merchandise movement and support item level investigations.
- Prepare and submit timely reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security and emergency incidents, including medical emergencies.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and training within the store.
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to use good judgment and be accountable for decisions in a fast paced environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when dealing with aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
