Asset Protection Agent - City Creek Center

Summary

The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, teams, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, mitigating shrinkage, and supporting emergency response efforts. The role partners with store leadership and local authorities, uses surveillance and RFID systems, and may participate in emergency response and court testimony.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and AP guidance.
• Monitor video and RFID systems to identify theft trends and support investigations.
• Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and escalating as needed.
• Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans, audits, and merchandise protection standards.
• Respond to, escalate, and report security, safety, and emergency incidents; serve on the store Emergency Response Team.
• Prepare timely reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations; testify in court when required.

Requirements

• Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to make sound, accountable decisions under pressure.
• High level of confidentiality, accountability, initiative, and ownership.
• Calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior and safety issues.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and participate in emergency response training, including First Aid.
• Meet any state and local licensing requirements.
• Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
