Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting people, property, and merchandise by preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and security incidents. This role partners with store leadership, emergency response teams, and law enforcement to maintain a safe shopping environment while supporting inventory accuracy and shrinkage reduction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft incidents while adhering to policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor surveillance and video systems to identify and investigate suspicious activity.
- Leverage reporting, RFID data, and exception-based tools to identify theft trends and support item-level investigations.
- Prepare and submit thorough reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations; testify in court when required.
- Respond to and manage security and emergency incidents, serving as a member of the store Emergency Response Team and participating in emergency training.
- Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and training initiatives within the store; build partnerships with store leaders and local law enforcement.
