Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, and company assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining store security. This role partners with store leadership and local authorities to reduce shrinkage and ensure a safe shopping environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and procedures
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to identify and investigate theft activity
- Use reporting tools and RFID data to identify theft trends and support investigations
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, and investigations
- Participate in and support store Emergency Response Team activities and training
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts within the store
- Collaborate with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
- Respond to and report store security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
Requirements
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment in fast paced situations
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
- Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable
- Experience with investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership
- Ability to prepare complete and prompt incident and investigation documentation
