Summary
Provide safety and security for customers, employees, merchandise and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and promoting shrinkage reduction initiatives. Serve as a visible presence on the sales floor, conduct investigations, and partner with leadership and law enforcement as needed.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct quality apprehensions in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance technology to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigations teams.
- Use RFID data and reporting to aid merchandise investigations and improve inventory accuracy.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security incidents and medical or emergency situations.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and provide training within the store.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response and First Aid training.
- Prepare and submit thorough reports for high-profile incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when summoned and build partnerships with neighboring retailers and local law enforcement.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in fast paced environments.
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior or safety issues.
- High level of initiative, ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable.
- Willingness to participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
