Summary
Protect customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining a safe retail environment. The role partners with store leadership, investigation teams, and local authorities to resolve incidents and support shrinkage reduction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve thefts in high shrinkage areas following policy and procedures
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations
- Identify theft trends using reporting, technology, and RFID data
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for escalation
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, and investigations
- Participate as a member of the store Emergency Response Team and support emergency incidents
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness and training within the store
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in fast paced situations
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality and a calm demeanor when managing safety issues
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet state and local licensing requirements as applicable
- Accountability, initiative, and high level of ownership
