Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and company assets by mitigating shrinkage risks, investigating theft, and supporting store safety and emergency response efforts. This role partners with store leadership and external partners to maintain secure physical spaces and accurate product inventory. The agent uses surveillance, reporting tools, and RFID data to identify trends and support investigations.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents using appropriate procedures and conduct quality apprehensions when necessary.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations and incident reporting.
- Identify theft trends through reporting, technology, and data analysis and implement shrinkage reduction actions.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and collaborating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Support store safety and emergency incidents, responding to and reporting security and medical emergencies.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and provide training within the store.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements when applicable.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Ability to build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
