Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, and merchandise by preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and safety incidents. The role supports store emergency response, enforces security procedures, and works to reduce shrink through monitoring, reporting, and partnership with store leaders and local law enforcement. The agent uses surveillance, RFID, and exception reporting to identify risks and support investigations.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft and conduct quality apprehensions in accordance with policy and AP guidance.
- Monitor video systems and use surveillance technology to detect and investigate incidents.
- Identify theft trends using reporting tools, RFID data, and analytics.
- Implement shrinkage reduction action plans and maintain merchandise protection standards.
- Investigate internal theft, gather evidence, and coordinate with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Respond to, escalate, and report store security, safety, and emergency incidents; serve on the Emergency Response Team and participate in first aid training.
- Prepare prompt, complete reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations; testify in court when summoned.
- Build cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.

- Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability with accountability in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when managing aggressive behavior.
- Flexible schedule availability based on business needs and willingness to participate in emergency response training.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements.
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
