Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, employees, store assets, and reducing shrinkage through investigations, surveillance, and partnership with store leadership and local law enforcement. Serves on the Emergency Response Team and supports safety, security, and incident reporting while maintaining confidentiality and following company policies and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance technology to identify theft trends and support investigations.
- Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and collaborating with AP leadership and investigation teams.
- Use RFID and exception reporting to assist in merchandise accuracy and item level investigations.
- Respond to, escalate, and report security incidents and medical emergencies to maintain safety.
- Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store.
- Serve as a member of the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
