Summary
The Asset Protection Agent is responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and partnering with store teams to reduce shrinkage. The role involves monitoring surveillance systems, conducting investigations, and participating in safety and security initiatives. Agents must follow policy and coordinate with law enforcement and AP leadership as needed.
Responsibilities
- Resolve and apprehend suspected thefts while adhering to policy and leadership guidance
- Monitor video and surveillance systems to identify and investigate theft activity
- Identify theft trends and implement shrinkage reduction action plans
- Investigate internal theft and gather evidence for investigations
- Leverage RFID and reporting tools to support merchandise accuracy and investigations
- Respond to and report security incidents and medical emergencies to maintain safety
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and shrinkage awareness training
- Prepare prompt and complete incident and investigation reports
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
