Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results and conducting investigations and apprehensions related to internal and external theft at a single store location. Works under direction of the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager Operations to implement store safety and awareness programs and maintain inventory integrity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and audits on a daily and monthly basis
• Conduct investigations into internal and external theft incidents
• Perform apprehensions and coordinate with management as needed
• Train store associates on asset protection policies and awareness
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory
• Develop shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls
• Implement store safety and awareness programs
• Support ad hoc asset protection duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred
• Certification as required by jurisdiction
• Ability to learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications quickly
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus
• Strong communication and team building skills
• Proven ability to develop investigative and shortage control strategies
