Summary
Protect customers, team members, merchandise, and physical spaces through loss prevention, investigations, surveillance, and emergency response as a member of the store Asset Protection team. The role partners with store leadership and external authorities to reduce shrinkage and maintain safety.
Responsibilities
- Resolve theft incidents and conduct apprehensions in accordance with policy and leadership guidance.
- Monitor video systems and leverage surveillance to support investigations.
- Identify theft trends using reporting, technology, and RFID data to aid investigations.
- Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and coordinating with AP leadership.
- Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid.
- Lead security audits, shrinkage awareness efforts, and training within the store.
- Work with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement as needed.
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
Requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred.
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in fast paced situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain calm when handling aggressive behavior.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Meet state and local licensing requirements where applicable.
- High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability.
