Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results and implementing shortage control measures at a Saks Fifth Avenue store. Conduct investigations and apprehensions related to internal and external theft, support store safety programs, and train associates on asset protection policies and procedures. Works under direction of the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager Operations to maintain inventory integrity and loss prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shortage reports and perform daily and monthly audits.
• Investigate incidents of internal and external theft and conduct apprehensions when necessary.
• Develop and implement shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls.
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection procedures.
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory.
• Maintain physical inventory integrity through monitoring and corrective actions.
• Support store safety and awareness programs.
• Perform ad hoc asset protection responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred.
• Certification required where applicable by jurisdiction.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to quickly learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications.
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus.
• Strong investigative and communication skills.
• Ability to train and influence store associates.
