Asset Protection Investigator

Summary

Responsible for monitoring shortage results, controlling shrink, conducting investigations and apprehensions for internal and external theft, and implementing store safety and awareness programs at a Saks Fifth Avenue location. Reports to the Asset Protection Manager or Assistant General Manager Operations and supports training and loss prevention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily and monthly shortage and inventory reports to maintain inventory integrity
• Organize and conduct annual store inventory
• Develop shortage strategies for merchandise groups and paperwork controls
• Train store associates on awareness and asset protection policies and procedures
• Conduct investigations and apprehensions related to theft
• Implement store safety and awareness programs
• Maintain compliance with certification and jurisdictional requirements
• Use store IT applications and systems for loss prevention tasks

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years asset protection experience in a large volume retail environment preferred
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Certification required where applicable by jurisdiction
• Ability to learn company standards, procedures, and IT applications quickly
• Wicklander-Zulawski certification a plus
• Strong investigative and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement shortage control strategies
