Assistant Buyer - Men's Footwear

Summary

The Assistant Buyer supports Buyers in achieving sales, margin and full-price sell thru objectives for men's footwear by providing operational and analytical support across purchasing, inventory and vendor relations. This role assists with forecasting, purchase order management, stock monitoring and preparation of seasonal business reviews and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sales and margin performance and interpret variances against budget and forecast
• Assist in purchase order creation, tracking and follow up with vendors
• Support forecast preparation and monthly seasonal markdown sessions
• Monitor stock levels and recommend repeats, consolidations and RTVs
• Prepare pre-market analysis, seasonal business reviews and store allocations
• Manage buying office and sample inventory including ordering and returns
• Coordinate trunk shows, special events and in-store product knowledge sessions
• Provide in-season sales analysis and prepare presentations and event materials

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
• 1-2 years of post-university work experience
• Knowledge of purchasing principles, retail math and inventory management
• Experience with analysis and system-based tools an asset
• Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
• Highly service-oriented with strong organizational and follow up skills
• Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
