Assistant Department Manager

Summary

Lead sales floor operations for an assigned store or department, delivering a memorable customer experience while achieving sales and profit goals. Partner with senior store leaders to develop leadership skills and build a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sales, margins, budgets, and department performance.
• Set associate sales goals, supervise staff, and coach the team to deliver exceptional service and build client loyalty.
• Support visual presentation, promotional execution, and loss prevention initiatives.
• Recruit, develop, and motivate staff while maintaining company policies and service standards.
• Share feedback with buying and allocation teams on merchandise performance and sales opportunities.

Requirements

• Relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and financial skills.
• Ability to guide and motivate individuals using teamwork and staff development skills.
• Computer proficiency preferred, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Workday, and Outlook.
• Ability to move around the sales floor and stock areas, lift up to 30 pounds, climb a ladder, and stand or walk for extended periods.
