Assistant Department Manager

Summary

The Assistant Department Manager helps deliver an elevated customer experience while driving sales and profitability for the assigned department. The role leads the sales floor, builds client relationships, and partners with the General Manager to support store leadership and team performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage department sales and profit performance, monitor budgets, and establish individual sales goals.
• Supervise, coach, and develop sales associates to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business goals.
• Partner with buying and allocation teams, execute visual presentation initiatives, and maintain the store environment.
• Implement loss prevention procedures and support recruitment, staff development, and promotional strategies.

Requirements

• Relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, business, and financial skills.
• Ability to motivate and guide individuals through teamwork and staff development.
• Ability to use common business software and meet the physical demands of working on a sales floor, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
