Assistant Department Manager

Summary

Lead an assigned store department to deliver a memorable customer experience while achieving sales and profit goals. Partner with the General Manager and department leadership to guide the sales floor, build client relationships, and develop the store team.

Responsibilities

• Manage sales and profit performance, budgets, and sales goals for associates.
• Coach and develop staff to provide exceptional service and build customer loyalty.
• Partner with buying and allocation teams to identify high-potential merchandise.
• Execute visual presentation, loss prevention, and asset protection initiatives.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop staff, and support promotional strategies.

Requirements

• Relevant work experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and financial skills.
• Ability to motivate and develop staff and work collaboratively toward goals.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and using a ladder as trained.
• Basic computer skills preferred, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
