Assistant Designer

Summary

The Assistant Designer will support the design team at the downtown Seattle headquarters in a hybrid role, assisting with trend research, sketching and developing design concepts, preparing tech packs, and collaborating with merchandising, production, and technical design to ensure brand-aligned apparel development.

Responsibilities

• Research trends and competitive brands to inform design direction
• Sketch and develop design concepts and contribute to trend reports
• Prepare tech packs and assist with fabric and trim selection
• Organize and evaluate samples and provide fit and construction feedback
• Support Design Director with buy meeting preparation and milestone prep
• Plan facilitate and execute assigned design projects
• Collaborate with cross-divisional partners including merchandising and production

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associates degree in Design
• Strong college portfolio and or CV resume with design work samples
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe CS and ability to hand-sketch
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage multiple deadlines
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and systems
