Summary
Support the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to ensure a profitable store while maintaining brand standards and delivering an exceptional customer experience. Act as a key decision maker in the General Manager's absence and drive operational excellence, talent development, and new ways of selling.
Responsibilities
- Support analysis of business trends and development of store strategic plans
- Educate team on sales and profit performance tools and resources
- Create and uphold a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in client development strategy and lead community outreach
- Execute talent strategy and support recruitment and development activities
- Manage store processes including inventory control to achieve shrink goals
- Champion use of technology to support selling techniques and drive results
- Provide feedback to leadership on high profit potential and category trends
- Ensure sales floor and store standards exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent is a plus
- Retail management or similar industry experience in a high-volume specialty environment preferred
- Strong communication skills with customers and store personnel
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods
- Ability to operate register and work on the sales floor and stock areas
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends and possible travel
- Proven track record of building and maintaining positive working relationships
- Business acumen with strong planning and prioritization skills
