Summary
The Associate Buyer supports the development, selection, and management of North American assortments. This role owns designated categories through seasonal buying and in-season management, balancing brand direction, regional client needs, and commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal assortments and store and regional recommendations based on financial objectives, client demand, and business performance.
- Manage buying tools, order entry, assortment plans, and seasonal recaps.
- Analyze sales, sell-through, inventory, weeks of supply, and product productivity; recommend reorders, replenishment, transfers, and stock consolidation.
- Partner with planning, allocation, retail, wholesale, and cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and business performance.
- Monitor market trends and competitive assortments, own category reporting, and present insights and recommendations.
- Support strategic initiatives and provide guidance to assistant buyers and junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or planning within luxury or premium fashion.
- Experience managing a category or meaningful portion of a business.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong analytical skills, including knowledge of retail KPIs.
- Strong product sensibility, commercial understanding of the luxury client, and ability to turn business performance into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional partnership skills.
