Job Description

Summary

As an Associate Designer in Kid's Apparel at Nordstrom, you will be part of a creative team responsible for developing and designing Nordstrom Brand products. This hybrid role requires working in the Seattle office at least three days a week, where you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to create original and saleable concepts that appeal to the Nordstrom customer.

Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize and sketch design ideas based on direction from the Senior Designer.
  • Prepare and present design sketches to cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with the design team and cross-divisional partners.
  • Support the Senior Designer in preparing for key milestones.
  • Research trends and competitive brands and report findings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Design.
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in the design industry.
  • Strong design portfolio and/or CV resume.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to hand-sketch.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe CS.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Understanding of industry trends and enthusiasm for Nordstrom culture.
