Job Description

Summary

The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in creating and executing strategic plans to drive profitable store performance, uphold brand standards, and develop store talent. This role acts as a key decision maker in the General Manager's absence and focuses on operational excellence, client development, and community outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and strategic planning for the store
  • Educate and coach the team on sales and profit performance tools
  • Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
  • Assist in developing store client strategy and lead local community outreach
  • Execute talent strategy, including recruitment and employee development
  • Manage store processes including inventory control to meet shrink goals
  • Champion new technology and selling techniques to drive results
  • Provide feedback to leadership on high profit potential and category trends
  • Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent a plus
  • Retail management or similar experience in a high volume specialty environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills with customers and store personnel
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and long periods of standing
  • Ability to operate register and perform store operations
  • Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel
  • Proven track record building and maintaining positive working relationships
  • Business acumen with strong planning and prioritization skills
