Summary
The Associate Manager supports the General Manager in creating and executing strategic plans to drive profitable store performance, uphold brand standards, and develop store talent. This role acts as a key decision maker in the General Manager's absence and focuses on operational excellence, client development, and community outreach.
Responsibilities
- Support General Manager in analyzing business trends and strategic planning for the store
- Educate and coach the team on sales and profit performance tools
- Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
- Assist in developing store client strategy and lead local community outreach
- Execute talent strategy, including recruitment and employee development
- Manage store processes including inventory control to meet shrink goals
- Champion new technology and selling techniques to drive results
- Provide feedback to leadership on high profit potential and category trends
- Ensure sales floor and store standards consistently exceed expectations
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent a plus
- Retail management or similar experience in a high volume specialty environment preferred
- Strong communication skills with customers and store personnel
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs and long periods of standing
- Ability to operate register and perform store operations
- Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel
- Proven track record building and maintaining positive working relationships
- Business acumen with strong planning and prioritization skills
