Summary
The Base Building Facilities Tech 2 performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and life safety systems for the facility. This role leads and supports preventative maintenance, manages installations and parts inventory, responds to emergencies, and operates facility equipment to maintain building systems to applicable standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical plumbing electrical structural and fire life safety systems
- Conduct building inspections for interior and exterior areas including fixtures roofing and lighting
- Respond to emergencies and support after hours building related activities as requested
- Manage installation of new or replacement equipment and oversee outside vendors
- Perform and delegate preventative maintenance tasks and create close out work orders with labor equipment and parts data
- Order and maintain inventory of parts equipment and supplies and prepare purchase requests
- Safely operate forklifts scissor and boom lifts and hand tools
- Comply with safe storage usage and disposal of hazardous materials and follow safety procedures
- Recommend and estimate repairs and improvements for inclusion in annual budget
Requirements
- Minimum of five years applicable experience in building repair maintenance basic plumbing and basic electrical
- Experience with HVAC fluid handling pumping filtering mechanical systems welding and electrical systems
- EPA 608 Universal Technician Certification
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems
- Completion of applicable technical training program strongly preferred
- Knowledge of building automation systems controls systems and PLCs preferred
- Familiarity with power pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook internet usage and navigation
- Ability to lift and move up to 49lbs and stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours
