Summary
The Cashier provides a customer first checkout experience by processing transactions accurately, maintaining the cashwrap area, and supporting store operations. This role greets customers, secures customer information in the POS system, and assists with returns and promotional processing. Position may be offered full time or part time depending on candidate availability.
Responsibilities
- Create exceptional customer experiences with welcoming greetings
- Process sales transactions including cash credit debit and checks
- Validate returned merchandise and manage coupon redemption
- Execute Ship to Home orders and maintain customer profiles in POS
- Maintain cleanliness of cash wrap queue line and surrounding areas
- Support visual merchandising standards and capture reticket information
- Answer phones handle inquiries and escalate issues to management
- Engage in cross selling and upselling to enhance customer experience
- Complete required trainings and support talent sourcing activities
Requirements
- Retail or similar industry experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store personnel
- Ability to operate register stand walk and move for multiple hours
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and maneuver around sales floor and stock areas
- Ability to work flexible schedule including days evenings weekends and possible overnight shifts
- Ability to maintain accurate salesperson data capture in POS
- Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to multitask
