Summary
The Client Care Technician performs repair and troubleshooting of damaged luggage to ensure products meet company standards. This role inspects and tests items, determines repair estimates, operates inventory and tracking systems, assists with training, and maintains a safe, organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Inspect used and returned products to determine repair needs.
- Repair or replace defective or worn parts using hand, power, or specialized tools.
- Test and adjust repaired products for proper functioning per company standards.
- Determine estimates for repair costs including labor and materials.
- Inspect new products for manufacturer defects or shipping damage and report findings.
- Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems for the service and repair department.
- Assist Head Technician with training of trainees and store employees.
- Load, unload and move materials and perform material handling tasks such as counting, weighing, packing and unpacking.
- Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with regulations and perform daily cleaning of work areas and equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or technical environment with hands-on use of small hand tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical background with experience using hand and power tools is a must.
- Working experience repairing luggage or similar industry products required; machine operator or assembler experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory/record systems.
