Summary

The Department Manager is responsible for creating a memorable customer shopping experience while generating revenue and positive operating profit for the assigned department. This role leads sales and profit performance, staff development, loss prevention, and in-store presentation.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales, margin, and profit goals for the assigned department.
• Partner with store leadership to set goals, develop budgets, and monitor performance.
• Train, supervise, coach, and mentor employees to improve sales and results.
• Implement loss prevention procedures and support store shrinkage goals.
• Execute promotional strategies and visual directives while maintaining presentation standards.
• Monitor competition and market trends, and provide input on merchandise presentation.

Requirements

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Strong business acumen and communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and develop staff through teamwork, negotiation, and coaching.
• Ability to maintain an environment consistent with the brand's lifestyle philosophy.
