Summary
The Designated Selling Associate provides one-on-one customer service to drive sales and represent the brand through strong product knowledge, merchandising, and appointment and digital selling. This role builds customer relationships, supports department readiness, and uses sales tools to meet goals. The schedule varies by business needs and requires physical activity and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital selling including use of text and social media
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
- Provide styling advice on fit, value, and wardrobe completion
- Conduct appointment-based selling during events and non-event timeframes
- Educate peers through product knowledge meetings and feedback to the department manager
- Perform merchandising tasks including stocking, re-merchandising, displays, price markdowns, and transfers
- Use sales reporting to inform selling strategies and meet performance targets

- Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Flexible availability to work varied schedules based on business needs
- Knowledge of product trends and ability to educate customers on brands and styling
- Comfort selling across a range of price points and demonstrating product value

- Physical ability for continuous movement, frequent bending and reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
