Summary
The Director of Commercial Learning and Development leads the strategic vision and execution of learning initiatives for Cartier North America's commercial organization. This role manages a geographically dispersed team, uses data to identify performance opportunities, and partners with senior commercial stakeholders to strengthen selling capabilities and the client experience. Approximately 70% of the role involves field activities across North America.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial learning strategies aligned with business objectives and global learning priorities.
- Analyze commercial data, identify performance gaps, and measure the effectiveness and return on investment of learning initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, including setting goals and overseeing performance and career development.
- Improve selling skills, client experience, product knowledge, and leadership capabilities across the commercial organization.
- Partner with regional leaders, boutique directors, HR partners, and cross-functional teams to identify needs and implement learning solutions.
- Spend time in boutiques and with field teams to understand commercial conditions and translate observations into actionable strategies.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and support adoption of learning technologies.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of progressive Learning and Development experience, including 5 years leading a team, or 8 or more years as a commercial leader in retail with strong people-development experience.
- Experience leading a geographically dispersed team and a strong understanding of commercial selling, sales drivers, and client experience.
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting complex data, measuring learning impact, and partnering with data analytics teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, design tools such as Canva, learning management systems, and AI tools.
- Ability to travel approximately 70% across North America.
