Director, Construction - Gallery Development

Summary

Lead construction efforts for gallery development, overseeing projects from planning through completion and ensuring alignment with design and operational objectives. Serve as the primary construction executive for multiple locations, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver high-quality spaces on schedule and within budget. Provide strategic direction on construction standards, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all phases of construction for gallery development projects.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets and ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with design, operations, real estate, and external contractors.
• Oversee contractor selection, negotiation, and performance management.
• Ensure projects comply with codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Implement construction best practices and quality control measures.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to construction and project teams.
• Prepare executive reports and present project status to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant construction management experience.
• Proven experience managing large scale retail or gallery construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, and permitting processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiation.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.
