Director, Store Planning And Construction - North America

Summary

The Director of Store Planning and Construction leads North American luxury retail planning and construction projects, including flagship-level stores and other high-profile initiatives. The role manages and develops a team of project managers while directly overseeing select complex projects. It is accountable for delivering design-driven environments on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, setting priorities and promoting consistent project practices.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex projects, including budgets, schedules, procurement, and stakeholder communications.
• Manage project-level procurement, RFPs, bid review, contract negotiation, and vendor performance.
• Develop cost estimates, manage and mitigate project risks, and provide financial reporting and forecasts to senior leadership.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in store planning and construction, ideally in luxury retail, hospitality, or another design-driven industry.
• Experience leading a team of at least three project managers and managing complex, bespoke, flagship-level retail projects.
• Background in architecture, engineering, construction project management, or related advanced education or training.
• Experience in estimating, procurement, contracting, and cost management.
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on project execution and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
