Summary
The Director, Visual Merchandising leads creative direction and execution of visual standards at the New York Flagship, managing teams and timelines for initiatives, launches, and brand partnerships. This role drives measurable impact within the visual merchandising organization, ensures compliance with corporate standards, and partners with cross functional stakeholders to deliver an elevated luxury customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for visual merchandising across the New York Flagship.
- Manage and develop exempt and hourly visual teams, including talent development and succession planning.
- Oversee planning and execution of launches, fashion presentations, and brand partnerships.
- Lead weekly workload planning and timeline management for VM initiatives.
- Partner with merchandise leaders and brand partners to align merchandising strategies by floor.
- Drive accountability for meeting budget targets and financial plans.
- Present to internal and external audiences with authority and presence.
- Ensure compliance with corporate visual and environmental standards.
- Pivot between multiple priorities while maintaining deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5-10 years of management experience in visual merchandising or related field; minimum 5 years.
- Proven experience in strategic and creative visual merchandising and multi unit leadership.
- Advanced visual merchandising knowledge supporting the customer experience.
- Strong leadership, delegation, and talent development skills.
- Business acumen and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Proficiency with Google and Adobe suites and ability to learn rendering tools.
- Willingness to support other stores as needed.
