Director of Engineering AI/ML

As the Director of Engineering AI/ML at Nordstrom, you will lead the strategy, development, and delivery of scalable AI/ML tools and platforms. This role involves shaping data and technology use to drive smarter decisions and elevate customer experiences, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

• Define the strategy and roadmap for AI/ML enablement, aligning with Nordstrom’s business and technology goals.
• Lead the development of reusable AI/ML tools, frameworks, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, Product, and Infrastructure teams for seamless AI/ML integration.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and explore new technologies in AI/ML.
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team.
• Establish best practices for AI/ML lifecycle management with a focus on scalability, security, and ethical AI.

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Strong technical background in AI/ML lifecycle management and cloud-based architectures.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Proven track record of hiring and mentoring engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or customer-focused industries is a plus.
