Engineering Manager - Nordstrom Product Group

Summary

The Engineering Manager will lead an engineering team within the Nordstrom Product Group to transform merchandising processes by implementing automated, data driven solutions. This hybrid role partners with product and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver scalable AWS based applications while fostering team development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams to deliver software solutions aligned to business priorities
• Plan sprints and collaborate with product partners to define and prioritize intake
• Create and execute strategic capability roadmaps and drive measurable value
• Contribute to architecture, code reviews, test plans, deployment planning and operations
• Hire and develop talent to deliver predictable outcomes in an agile fashion
• Implement continuous improvement practices and define relevant KPIs
• Ensure teams have tools, resources, and training to adopt modern technologies and methodologies

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant work experience
• 3+ years leading teams preferred
• BA or BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of Java development experience
• Experience with AWS and applications built on AWS
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools such as PTC FlexPLM preferred
• Experience with observability and operations tools such as New Relic, Splunk, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, JIRA
