Summary
Lead and deliver engineering work for supply chain transportation systems in a hybrid Seattle role, balancing technical leadership, people management, and hands-on contribution. Own development and support of backend services and platform components used by internal and external stakeholders while leveraging data and AI to improve logistics and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide full leadership responsibility for engineering team deliverables in partnership with product and business stakeholders
- Identify and develop engineers and leaders while fostering a collaborative team culture
- Own creation of new systems and support and evolution of existing systems
- Influence and make technology decisions for the platform
- Lead distributed teams across time zones
- Participate in building vision, defining roadmaps, and executing on them
- Perform hands-on coding and advocate for new technologies and solutions
- Use data and AI to inform solutions and improve logistics operations
- Ensure reliability and operation of business critical systems servicing internal and external customers
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience
- 1+ years leading and developing software development teams with full SDLC experience
- 4+ years hands-on backend software development experience
- 2+ years working in private or public cloud environments
- Proficiency in Java or Python
- Experience in transportation or supply chain highly preferred
- Experience working with distributed teams across time zones
