Facilities Technician 1 - Cedar Rapids Fulfillment Center

Summary

The Facilities Technician 1 performs preventative maintenance and supports troubleshooting and repair of material handling equipment and building systems in a fulfillment center. This role works closely with Operations to design maintenance solutions and complete maintenance projects. The technician documents work through the work order system and helps maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair material handling systems and conveyors, including motors, reducers, belt tracking, and belt lacing
• Diagnose basic relay logic and control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, tachs, and encoders
• Safely operate forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, and hand tools
• Create and close out work orders with labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance (preferred)
• Knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment and basic controls systems/PLCs (preferred)
• Familiarity with power, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to move up to 49 lbs and stand or walk during shifts up to 12 hours
