Facilities Technician 2

Summary

Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on building systems and material handling equipment at a distribution center. Support operations by developing maintenance solutions, leading preventative maintenance procedures, and assisting with technician training. Work is hands-on and requires adherence to safety procedures and operation of warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair material handling systems and conveyors, including motors, reducers, belt tracking, and belt lacing.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic control systems using test equipment and interpret ladder diagrams and relay logic.
• Maintain and troubleshoot control components such as motor starters, relays, sensors, timers, solenoids, drives, tachs, and encoders.
• Safely operate forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, and hand tools to perform system support tasks.
• Create and close out work orders with detailed data including labor hours, maintenance performed, and parts used.
• Lead preventative maintenance procedures and assist in training service technicians.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, and building maintenance.
• Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment and power, pneumatic, or hydraulic tools.
• Basic knowledge of control systems and PLCs; robotics experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-departmentally.
• Ability to move up to 49 lbs and stand/walk during shifts; ability to work assigned shift hours.
