Footwear Designer - SoHo

As a Footwear Designer at Marc Jacobs in SoHo, New York, you will be part of a creative team responsible for designing innovative footwear that aligns with current trends and the Marc Jacobs brand. You will work from our headquarters, contributing to the development of unique and stylish footwear designs.

• Research current trends and apply them to product design.
• Sketch technical drawings and freeform renderings, providing detailed specifications.
• Develop solutions to complex design problems.
• Collaborate with factories to develop products from concept through engineering.
• Understand materials, hardware, leather, and footwear construction.
• Create detailed tech packs and pass specs for factory proto-sample-making.
• Participate in fit sessions and maintain accurate spec sheets in the PLM system.
• Work on multiple projects with different deadlines, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ensure design alignment with the Marc Jacobs customer and brand positioning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Art or Fashion (Design, Merchandising, etc.).
• 5+ years of design experience.
• Excellent taste level and brand awareness.
• Strong sense of color, fashion, product, and trend.
• Strong knowledge of design and product development process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must provide a digital portfolio of work.
