Summary
Industrial Engineer responsible for developing and implementing process strategies and continuous improvement initiatives in a luxury goods manufacturing plant. Drive production efficiency, optimize layouts and material flow, apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and support data-driven decision-making to improve throughput and maintain high quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead workstation and assembly cell design and optimization to ensure ergonomic and efficient setups.
- Conduct time studies and head count rationalization to optimize labor allocation and productivity.
- Design and implement material flow and production layouts for delicate luxury materials.
- Use Value Stream Mapping to identify and eliminate production inefficiencies.
- Analyze lead time, throughput, and bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement Lean Management strategies and train teams on Lean methodologies.
- Prepare and monitor production process projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors to define equipment requirements and specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on product and process performance and recommend actionable insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive manufacturing experience, preferably in luxury or high precision environments.
- Proven experience implementing Lean methodologies and process improvement programs.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data driven decision-making and statistical analysis.
- Minimum 3 years' experience with AutoCAD for layout updates.
- Sigma Green Belt certification and/or automation experience considered an asset.
- Experience collaborating with cross functional teams including production engineering and quality assurance.
- Experience conducting time and motion studies and process mapping.
