Summary
Experienced bench jeweler responsible for after-sales repairs, alterations, and manufacturing of repetitive high jewelry pieces in the New York City workshop, ensuring workmanship meets Maison quality and technical standards. The role requires expertise in laser welding, torch soldering, microscope work, fabrication and assembly, and adherence to workshop protocols and delivery timelines.
Responsibilities
- Complete after-sales repairs including component functionality and restoration
- Perform alterations and adjustments such as ring sizing, chain sizing and laser engravings
- Fabricate repetitive high jewelry pieces using handmade and semi handmade techniques
- Perform soldering using traditional torch and laser welding techniques
- Work on 18k gold and platinum and handle complex mechanisms
- Manage precious metal and workshop time management systems
- Meet workshop productivity, quality and delivery KPIs
- Maintain equipment at the workbench and in shared areas
- Ensure daily compliance with workshop health and safety guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in jewelry repair and manufacturing
- Expertise in laser welding and traditional torch soldering
- Experience working with a microscope for fine detail work
- Familiarity with fabrication, assembly and cast cleaning
- Basic computer skills including MS suite and time management systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet delivery timelines
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills and teamwork
- Ability to self evaluate work in compliance with workshop protocols
- Experience with laser engraving and fluency in French considered a plus
