Summary
The Floor Operations Leader oversees daily upholstery manufacturing operations at a workroom in Downey, California. This role translates leadership priorities into production plans, improves workflow, and leads teams to meet standards for craftsmanship, quality, safety, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily production performance through effective workflow planning and staffing.
- Provide hands-on floor oversight, resolve production issues, and uphold safety, quality, and craftsmanship standards.
- Coach and develop production teams through clear direction and accountability.
- Identify workflow improvements and refine production strategies to support scalability and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with production leadership and Planning, Maintenance, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams to align forecasts and maintain production flow.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in upholstery, furniture, or related manufacturing, including direct leadership of production teams.
- Expertise in production scheduling, workflow management, staffing coordination, and daily output targets.
- Experience leading day-to-day operations in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, production metrics, labor efficiency, throughput, and performance reporting.
- Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
