Summary
Lead and elevate the performance of the global freight payment ecosystem, bridging logistics execution, systems, and analytics to ensure accurate payments, strong financial controls, and scalable processes. Serve as primary liaison between operations, carriers, and finance while driving system enhancements and team development. Own exception resolution, carrier onboarding, billing validation, and continuous improvement initiatives across a global carrier network.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end performance of global freight payment processes ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Serve as primary liaison for carrier billing and freight payment partners and own exception resolution
- Monitor system performance and lead KPI reviews to identify trends and optimization opportunities
- Translate operational activity into system configuration, invoice logic, and business rules
- Leverage shipment and invoice data to resolve complex payment scenarios and support analytics
- Lead system enhancements and transformations for freight payment platforms
- Hold audit and payment providers accountable to service-level commitments
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Freight Payment Coordinators
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in freight audit and payment, logistics, transportation, or related operational environment
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external engagement
- Analytical mindset with bias toward root-cause problem solving and data-informed decisions
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SQL or similar database experience a plus
- Familiarity with freight payment systems, accounts payable operations, and TMS platforms preferred
- Ability to prioritize operational urgency with strategic continuous improvement initiatives
