Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I assists in maintaining a safe and well maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance, basic repairs, inspections, and building rounds across multiple store locations within a business node. This entry level role works under close supervision and supports building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, and lighting while providing customer focused responses to maintenance requests and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned day to day preventive maintenance and respond to on demand requests from the sales floor
• Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner
• Conduct daily inspections and building rounds
• Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs of plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop systems, and HVAC
• Maintain lighting systems including fixtures and bulb replacement
• Observe and use electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot problems
• Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
• Follow safety procedures including lockout tagout, PPE, ergonomics, and working at heights
• Escalate issues as needed and provide prompt customer service during emergencies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of related experience and or training
• Basic working knowledge in trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal directions, manuals, circuit diagrams, and schematics
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with all organizational levels
• Flexible availability including days evenings weekends and off hours
• Proficiency with PCs for work order systems email and basic Microsoft Office
• Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs or more and perform physical tasks like stooping climbing and standing
