Summary
Assist in maintaining a safe and well maintained store environment by performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds. Work under close supervision supporting multiple stores within a business node and follow established procedures and safety protocols. Provide customer focused service and respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as directed by Facilities Manager or lead technician.
Responsibilities
- Perform day to day preventive maintenance and on demand maintenance requests from sales floor.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct daily inspections and building rounds.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs to plumbing, roofing, drains, kitchen equipment, shop systems and HVAC.
- Maintain lighting systems including fixtures and bulb replacement.
- Observe and use electrical schematics and blueprints to help troubleshoot problems.
- Perform manual labor tasks including loading unloading lifting and moving materials.
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO PPE ergonomics working at heights and machine guarding.
- Comply with applicable codes regulations and company directives related to building operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of related experience or training.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions and procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with all organizational levels.
- Flexible schedule availability including days evenings weekends and off hours as required.
- Entry level proficiency with power tools and willingness to learn additional trade skills.
- General understanding of mechanical component systems and processes.
- Basic computer skills for work order systems email and Microsoft Office programs.
- Detail oriented with strong accuracy and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to stoop stand walk climb ladders and lift or carry 50 lbs or more with or without reasonable accommodation.
