Maintenance Technician 2 - NYC Flagship

The Maintenance Technician II will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This position supports the Facility Manager in preparing stores for daily operations and involves leading a team to execute maintenance tasks across multiple Nordstrom locations.

• Lead and perform preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to store operations.
• Operate and monitor building controls and systems.
• Conduct equipment and building rounds, identifying and reporting malfunctions.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as loading and moving materials.
• Assist with administrative tasks including parts ordering and vendor management.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
• Attend store and vendor meetings, documenting outcomes.
• Complete and document preventative maintenance routines.
• Assist in training new employees on equipment and building systems.
• Respond to location emergencies and update maintenance management systems.
• Coordinate work with outside contractors and vendors.

• High School Diploma/GED; vocational degree preferred.
• 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience with mechanical maintenance emphasis.
• Experience in predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency in HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot input/output functions and logical devices.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated with a customer-focused approach.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with CMMS and ordering systems.
• Knowledge of computer networking systems and infrastructure.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting heavy loads.
