Maintenance Technician 3 - Topanga Plaza

The Maintenance Technician III at Topanga Plaza will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This position supports the Facility Manager in maintaining store equipment and building systems to ensure maximum efficiency and operational functionality.

• Ensure HVAC, vertical transportation, restaurants, entries and signs, and building systems are fully operational.
• Respond to daily break-fix and on-demand requests, and delegate work orders to Maintenance Technician II and I.
• Communicate with store leadership, support vendor relations, and assist with administrative tasks such as ordering parts.
• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and acting as a safety champion.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations and respond to store emergencies.
• Lead and perform preventive maintenance on all critical and non-critical equipment.
• Operate and monitor building controls and associated equipment, troubleshooting alarms and verifying proper operation.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as parts ordering and vendor management.
• Act as the face of the facilities business in place of the FM by attending store and vendor meetings.
• Assist FM with technical training of new employees on equipment and building systems.
• Communicate and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and property managers.

• 3+ years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
• Advanced technical skills and industry knowledge.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to perform manual labor tasks.
