Summary
The Asset Protection Manager leads store asset protection efforts to reduce inventory shortage and controllable losses. The role develops shortage strategies, supports a safe environment, and partners with store and corporate leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and communicate store asset protection plans and shortage reduction programs.
- Hire, train, supervise, and develop asset protection associates.
- Audit operational and merchandise security standards and address compliance risks.
- Investigate internal theft cases in partnership with Corporate Asset Protection and manage external cases.
- Promote emergency preparedness, physical security, and store safety; analyze accidents and help prevent recurrence.
- Build partnerships with store teams, law enforcement, mall management, other retailers, and legal counsel.
- Manage payroll, expense, and capital budgets and testify in civil or criminal court proceedings as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- 3-5 years of related experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and follow-up skills, with the ability to work across management levels and adapt to changing priorities.
- Working knowledge of physical security systems, including alarms, EAS, CCTV, and locks and keys.
- Ability to make sound business decisions, implement changes, and perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
