SummaryThe Materials Handler I is responsible for the daily stocking, security, and upkeep of the supply room for manufacturing consumable items, non-consumable items, office supplies, and equipment spare parts within LOM facilities. This role ensures efficient inventory management and supports the maintenance of adequate stock levels.
Responsibilities- Maintain inventory levels in the supply room and satellite locations within the manufacturing facility.
- Monitor and secure the supply room, allowing access only to authorized personnel.
- Complete weekly cycle counts of inventory levels and update the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Retrieve freight from the dock, disassemble, organize, and store it in designated locations.
- Assist the Planner/Scheduler with pulling parts and supplies for scheduled maintenance kits.
- Support Sr. Purchasing Clerks in maintaining hazardous materials and consumables for maintenance activities.
- Submit purchase requests to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of the spare tools program for Maintenance and Process Techs.
- Identify and report stock levels below minimum quantities and excess inventory to supervision and management.
Requirements- High School degree or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office software programs such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to business needs.
- Strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience in purchasing and/or inventory control, procurement systems, and CMMS.
